Hello, I’m Jennifer, the owner and photographer behind Rooted in Dawn Photography. I’m a wife and mom of 2 originally from Montana. When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me with my family, exploring outdoors, or cuddled up with a book.
From portrait to candid photography, I capture both beautifully posed images and genuine moments rooted in every frame.
My approach
I want you to drive away from our session together feeling less like you hired a photographer and more like you spent time with a friend who just so happened to bring a camera. A friend who is patient, creative, a little goofy, and genuinely invested in getting to know you. I'll gently guide you through posing while also leaving time for the small, sweet, candid moments to unfold naturally. I want you to feel comfortable from the moment we meet until the moment we say goodbye and head back to our vehicles. If you leave already looking forward to the next time we get to hang out, then I've done my job.

Truly the kindest experience when getting family photos done especially with two littles. Jen always has a plan ready to go to,but takes each area with patience making sure her clients are comfortable and feeling beautiful to get the sweetest photos. Photos can be so overwhelming, but she always makes it seem like a piece of cake. My girls and I always have the best time and get the most stunning photos for our wall. Our house is covered in family photos by her.
